ARCHAEOLOGY

A permanent exhibition introducing visitors to the ancient history and rich archaeological heritage of the Horishni Plavni community. The gallery presents unique artifacts dating from the Paleolithic period to the Late Middle Ages, discovered during decades of archaeological excavations of local burial mounds and settlements.

About the Exposition

The permanent exhibition “Archaeology” at the Local History Museum of the city of Horishni Plavni reveals thousands of years of the region’s history and invites visitors on a fascinating journey through the ages. Our region occupies a unique historical and cultural crossroads that attracted ancient peoples for centuries. The exhibition is based on artifacts and materials uncovered during extensive archaeological expeditions and excavations carried out in the surroundings of Horishni Plavni, including burial mounds and ancient settlements. Its scientific concept is founded on the research and discoveries of prominent Ukrainian historians and archaeologists. Among the exhibits are authentic clay pottery, fragments of weapons, and stone and metal tools that illustrate the everyday life, craftsmanship, and cultural traditions of the people who once inhabited this land. The “Archaeology” exhibition is one of the museum’s most important scientific and educational displays, helping to preserve, interpret, and present the deep historical roots of our region to future generations.
