INTERFERENCE OF AFTERIMAGES

The exhibition is a reflection on memory, light, and inner experiences in the works of Olha Hrytsenko, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, who was born in Komsomolsk (now Horishni Plavni). Her paintings are contemplations on space and time, past and future, which each viewer may perceive in their own way. The artist’s work is distinguished by vivid colors, layered textures, and a unique rhythmic composition. In her painting, color becomes alive and dynamic through the interaction of light, texture, and movement. Each brushstroke and shade helps convey emotion and the artist’s inner state. The title of the exhibition is connected to the concept of interference—the interaction of light and images that affect one another. In this exhibition, each work is perceived differently depending on the viewer’s experience, mood, perspective, and even the lighting of the exhibition space. An important concept in the exhibition is that of the afterimage. A color or image seen continues to remain in memory for some time after a person looks away. This is how Olha Hrytsenko’s paintings work: they do not reveal themselves instantly but gradually leave an emotional imprint and lasting impression.
