“A Confession in Colors”: Retrospective Exhibition in Memory of Volodymyr Yakovliev Opens at the Museum

On March 27, the exhibition hall of the Local History Museum of the city of Horishni Plavni hosted the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian monumental artist Volodymyr Yakovliev (1941–2024). The event brought together friends, colleagues, and art enthusiasts who came to honor the memory of the artist and to experience his works in our city for the first time or once again. The paintings of Volodymyr Yakovliev always speak to the viewer through the language of great artistic mastery, color, mood, and a deep sense of life, nature, and people. During the ceremony, moving words were shared by Kremenchuk-based artist and photographer, and a close friend of the painter, Ihor Nosov. He spoke about where Mr. Volodymyr drew his inspiration from and how carefully he worked on each canvas. A special moment of the event was a gift from Oksana Milyukova, who donated a painting to the museum — a portrait of the artist’s wife, whose love is present in many of his works. We thank everyone who joined the opening. We invite all interested visitors to explore the exhibition and discover the richness of Volodymyr Yakovliev’s artistic legacy. The exhibition “A Confession in Colors” will be on display in the museum’s exhibition hall from March 27 to May 15.
