About collection
The Archaeological Collection of the Horishni Plavni Local History Museum preserves the rich material heritage of the Lower Dnipro region, spanning from prehistoric times to the Late Middle Ages. The collection has been assembled over decades through scientific expeditions and archaeological fieldwork at burial mounds, ancient settlements, and habitation sites across the region.
The core of the collection consists of everyday household items, flint and metal tools, weapons, authentic hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery, as well as jewelry and ritual objects representing various historical cultures. This collection is a valuable scholarly resource that illustrates the stages of settlement in the region, cultural interactions, and the development of ancient communities within the territory of today's Horishni Plavni community.
