CONFESSION IN COLORS

The exhibition “Confession in Colors” is a tribute to the talent and life path of the outstanding artist Volodymyr Yakovliev (1941–2024). Dedicated to the 85th anniversary of his birth, it opens to visitors the creative world of a monumental painter. The displayed works include sketches of monumental art projects, paintings, and graphic works, representing the artist’s creative legacy accumulated over years of fruitful artistic activity. Within the exhibition hall are works reflecting the artist’s personal experiences and family inspirations: portraits of his beloved wife and friends, floral compositions, lyrical still lifes, and landscapes of his native Poltava region. The exhibition also features sketches for monumental works—decorative murals, stained glass, and sgraffito—for various educational and cultural institutions, as well as works created during art plein air sessions in Sedniv, Chuhuiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Yaremche, and Bukovel. All works presented in the exhibition belong to the collection of the Local History Museum of Horishni Plavni. Visitors are invited not only to explore the artistic heritage of the master but also to feel the living energy of his art, which continues to inspire even after the artist’s passing.
